BIOL 2060 Chapter Notes - Chapter 13.2: Acidosis, Juxtaglomerular Cell, Vasopressin
Document Summary
Vasopressin in plasma secreted, binds to tubular basolateral membrane. It"s a peptide hor(cid:373)o(cid:374)e. i(cid:374)crease plas(cid:373)a volume increase map. Hypothalamic osmoreceptors detect increase osmolarity & left atrial volume receptors detect low atrial blood flow. Anp- increase excretion; aldos, ang2, vaso decrease excrtion. Anp secreted from atria in response to stretch (when volume high). Anp reduces constriction so co lower & tpr low. More na+ & h20 excreted, reduced venous return & atrial blood pressure. Kidney detect low nacl, atrial blood pressure, ecf. Lings release angg-convert enzyme to convert ang1 to ang2. Aldosterone acts on kidney to increase na+ reabsorption. Renin is enyme. its production is rate limiting step. Secreted by juxtaglomerular cells when low plasma volume by sns stimulation or intrarenal baroreceptors. Ang2 thirst, ateriolar constricts, initatis release vasopressin all to conserve water & coorect ecf volume & map. Actively pumped into tubular cells & moves passively to lumen.
