33 views1 pages

Document Summary

In chapter 6 of staying alive, it discusses the connections between social structure and value to health. Health can be related to social structure because, your social class has a heavy influence on how and what you do for work, for example labor. Labor allows the body to be fit by working; however it can also cause immense deterioration. Birth outcomes, infant mortality, and other factors can be connected to social structure. For example, in areas with lower wages and poverty, the factors listed above tend to have more skewed numbers compared to areas with stability. The topics discussed in this chapter were not new to me. I was already aware of the connections between social classes and health.
