This reading discusses public health initiatives, services and organizations, and how they are covered financially. Some of these initiatives include dental care, palliative care, long term care, home care, and mental health care. Prior to this reading, i was unaware of how unintegrated mental health care is in the canadian healthcare system. Primary care physicians reported having to consolidate patients on their mental health issues despite primary care physician s lack of expertise. I thought this was outrageous because mental health is just as important as physical health.
