Cpu known as the brain of the computer, stores and executes a set of instrucions known as a program. Mar memory address register: contains address in memory to ind or place data. Mdr memory data register: contains actual data to be placed in locaion given in mar, or which has been retrieved from locaion given in mar. Memory map: the usage of space on a system is commonly depicted in a memory map . Fetch- decodes instrucion, load the code of the instrucion from memory. Buses group of electrical conductors (wires) for carrying signal from one locaion to another. Locaion of data is diferent from locaion of instrucions. Compilers translate high level language into low level instrucions. Interpreters translate source code instrucions into machine language and executes it one statement/ line at a ime. Cpu operated at speeds much faster than the fastest i/o device. I/o devices: keyboard, mouse, voice input, scanner, printer, magneic tape and disk, etc .
