Lab 7- Fitness Training Equipment Familiarization
During exercising student’s RPE and exercise HR will be monitored via radial palpation or heart
sensors
Stairmaster 4000
Enhances Cardiovascular-respiratory fitness
Works out major lower body muscles
o Gluteus Medius, Gluteus maximus, Quadriceps, Hamstrings, & Calves
Pre-programmed workouts: 8, Manual option
o Pre-timed: 5-45mins
Intensity: 10 levels, can increase intensity with speed
Motivational tool- display panel: calories, floors climbed, distance, time, work completed
in Kgm.min-1 and watts
Windracer
Motivational tool- aerodynamic resistance and display makes participant feel like a
competitive cyclist
o Displays: calories, speed, watts, fitness test can be conducted

Intensity: hundreds, can increase intensity with speed
Rower

Can enjoy walking, running indoors
Recumbent Bike
Improves: Cardiovascular fitness

Preferred over the Upright bike

Cross training, low impact
