A brief history of 70 years of space exploration. All the bigs firsts in space exploration was achieved in 6000 years we have only been present in for 70 years in space. The space race - the prime motivator in pushing the government"s funds towards space missions was to be the firsts to do it. Because the second half of the 20th century the world"s superpowers feared that the first country to make it to space would have dominance. Both russia and usa poured a lot of money into their missions. 1942: arose from the development of a weapon. This was developed by werner von braun. The most sophisticated weapon used in ww2 launched from a port in holland and hit london in seconds. this was a weapon of mass destruction. Karman line: defined as 100 km above sea level is the boundary at which earth"s. October of 1942 atmosphere is too thin for air navigation.
