Strategic design perspecive sees organizaions as social systems that are constructed to achieve strategic goals, to deliver on the organizaion"s strategy. Eiciency: accomplishing strategic goals with the least possible expenditure o resources. Efeciveness: ensuring that goals are accomplished to the standard necessary for the organizaion to succeed. People must share informaion, create informaion through cooperaion and direct informaion to those who can use it in order to meet strategic goals. Task: smallest unit of the aciviies that need to be performed to meet strategic goals. Complexity: task complexity varies, from simple to extremely complex. Rouinizaion: the extent to which the acivity can be speciied and programmed; simple tasks more rouine, complex tasks can also be rouinized. Interdependence: some tasks highly independent of others, very litle connecion and exchange of informaion; most tasks involve some interdependency however; types of interdependency developed by james thompson.
