What they found was that in the extreme environment of the early universe gravity can act in reverse instead of pulling it repels causing a huge expansion this repulsive gravity shed light on the beginning of big bang. Vlanken pondered as to what would cause inflation to stop, how would a reagion of space transition out of inflation, what would happen when inflation ends.
