Work by increasing the availability of neurotransmiters, such as norepinephrine or serotonin, which elevate arousal and mood and appear scarce when a person experiences feelings of depression or anxiety. Prozac work by blocking the reabsorpion and removal of serotonin from synapses. Selecive serotonin reuptake inhibitors (ssris) used in treaing disorders other than depression.
