For example it was said that birth control pills cause blood clotting, due to this statement many women stopped using it and there was a wave of unwanted pregnancies. If the statistics were shown then the public would know that blood clotting due to the pill if found in 2 in 7000 cases. The most common sets of data that are used are the mean, median and mode that generate a single number to account for many other numbers. Mean the arithmetic average of a distribution obtained by adding the scores and then dividing by the number of scores. Median the middle score in a distribution; when the scores are ordered from least to greatest. Mode the most frequently occurring score(s) in a distribution. The data can be a little biased based on the values in consideration.
