Stressful life events trigger our biological and psychological vulnerabilities to anxiety. In dsm-5, panic disorder and acrophobia were integrated to one disorder: to meet criteria for panic disorder, a person must think that each attack is a sign of impending death or incapacitation. Causes: learned alarms: process in which cues become associated with different internal/external stimuli.
