Equality of the ciizenry was also something that the romans took from the greeks, with a similar type of government that failed to produce true representaive democracy. The pracice of using divinaion for the propagaion of urban setlements was another thing gained from the greeks. Clearly, they were the basis for the roman way of life, which the subsequent culture improved in some ways and worsened in others, as will be later explained.
