Fertility rate has come down with social and economic development. Theories for social being more effective, and theories for economic being more effective. Dissemination of birth control facilities, knowledge and technology. Only statistically significant impact on fertility are female literacy and female labour force. Loss of freedom, results in neglect of female children. Not as effective as development (indian states for example)
