The canonical new testament book known as 1 corinthians is one of five undisputed. Pauline letters of the thirteen epistles attributed to paul. This letter was written to the inhabitants of the city of corinth, a large and prosperous city, the capital of achaia. In this letter to the corinthians, paul attempts to get down to the core issue of this community"s problems, and address the root of the immorality and disagreements between the people of this city. The root of the corinthians" internal issues boiled down to a misunderstanding or a misinterpretation of paul"s principal message about jesus to these people. The primary aspect of paul"s message to the corinthians was centered on the concept of christ"s death and resurrection. The members of the corinthian community who had misinterpreted this teaching had deceived themselves, and had begun to create great conflicts for the church in corinth.
