Document Summary

Chapter 1: in one paragraph, describe what a supervisor does. When becoming a supervisor and begin to supervise the work of other people, it separates them from the hourly workers and it brings them over to the management side. There are two points of view: the hourly workers and the management"s point of view. A supervisor"s responsibility is authority, direction, discipline and advancement. To an owner, you are the link with the workers and the work to be done, food and labor cost, quality control and guest service and to run things their way. To the guests is to make them always feel like they want to come back. To the employees, is to always have a management point of view and to not fall into the boomerang management, instead they need to stay in charge or they will take advantage of them.
