Thien Dam 12/7/12 Activity #6 I was not able to come to Prof. Dubois’s lecture so I had to listen to it through taping. In my listen, what I got from Professor Dubois’s lecture is that the Haiti’s legal system was essentially shaped by slaves. He spends quite some time talking about the types of people and diversity of the population.At the time, Haiti was basically founded by ex-slaves, people who were once slaves but then fled or gained freedom. 90% of the population of Haiti during the revolution was enslaved. The majority wereAfrican born. This combination ofAfrican born and slaves from Haiti to slaves from other nations brought about a diverse group of people who had they own set of beliefs, way of thinking and ethnics
