- Definitions
- Creativity - the development of novel (new) and useful (valuable, appropriate)
ideas by individual/small group working together
- Idea generation - part of creative process
- Innovation - the implementation of creative ideas w/in orgs
- Big C creativity v. Little C
- Big C Creativity - brand new idea for product/service; ex. Microwave, iPhone
- Little C Creativity - take an existing idea from one domain and apply it to another;
ex. Mellow Cooker
- Individual, organizational factors affecting creativity
- Individual: domain-specific skills, technical skills, intrinsic motivation
- Organizational: culture that encourages exchange of ideas, constructive
feedback, psychological safety; sufficient resources (time, money, supplies);
