Discipline moves towards limit, specify, focus, and contain: cuts down culture down to the bare bones as to downplay the dramatic and spectacle, keeps it on even level in terms of public popularity and scientific importance. Eclecticism: conceptual approach that does not hold rigidly to a single paradigm or set of assumptions, but instead draws upon multiple theories, styles, or ideas. Usually only one correct path but since there"s a lot of possibilities, gotta use it to find it. Semiotic, man is an animal suspended in webs of significance spun by himself , webs = culture.
