Document Summary
Prospero is on an enchanted isle: with his daughter miranda, he is the rightful duke of milan. His brother antonio had conspired against him 12 years earlier to take the throne: got help from alonso, the king of naples. They had been set adrift on a boat: became marooned on the isle. Ariel, a spirit on the island, and caliban, the son of sycorax, serve prospero on the island. A boat with prospero"s old enemies sails near the island: they sink the ship with a storm. Ferdinand, alonso"s son, ends up as one of the survivors on the isle: he hears ariel singing. Runs into miranda: falls in love with her. Alonso, antonio, sebastian and gonzalo search the island looked for ferdinand: during, antonio and sebastian plot to murder alonso. Stephano and trinculo run into caliban: they get drunk together. Caliban tries to convince them to kill prospero. Promises miranda to stephano: ariel turns them into prospero.
