Sociological perspective- seeing the general in the particular, as described by peter berger (1963) Sociology helps us see general patterns in the behavior of particular people. Emily durkheim- one of sociology"s pioneers, social integration. Global perspective- the study of the larger world and our society"s place in it. The world"s 194 nations can be divided into 3 broad categories. High income- highest overall standard of living; 67 including the us, Canada, argentina, japan generate most of the world"s goods and services. Middle income countries- nations with a standard of living about average for the world as a whole; 27 including south africa, eastern europe, most of. Low income countries- nations with a low standard of living, 56 including most of africa and some of asia. Public policy- the laws and regulations that guide how people in communities live and work. Changes in europe during the 18th and 19th century made people think more about society and their place in it.
