Compensatory damages compensation for damages to the plaintiff unless there are special. Punitive damages courts may issue these in tort cases where the plaintiff was injured through reprehensible actions. These punishments are very rare as courts try to refrain from granting punitive damage compensations as it can be deemed excessive and therefore violating due process"s fundamental fairness. Public figures are considered to be fair game for the public. In general, all slander towards public figures do not constitute defamation unless the statements are made with actual. The advertising of a product in a way that makes it sound better than it is, but without using false facts. As long as the statements are true to some degree, the statement is puffery and not fraud. Conversion any act that deprives an owner of personal property or use of property without owner"s permission or just cause. Invasion of privacy: every person has a fundamental right to solitude freedom from public scrutiny.
