Pharmacotherapeutics the use of medicine to treat disease. 1. 3 agents may be classified as traditional drugs, biologics and natural alternatives. Drugs are chemical agents that produce biologic responses within the body. Biologics are agents naturally produced in animal cells, in microorganisms, or by the body itself. Natural alternative therapies are herbs, natural extracts, vitamins, minerals, or dietary supplements.
