Britain created the state of pakistan for the muslims. However, there was a small strip of land in between the two states that proved to be incredibly valuable and both nations wanted it. They were handily defeated by the indians and kashmir was placed under. The majority of the kashmir population is muslim and they are unhappy with. In 1965, the issue of water resources led to an all-out war over kashmir. Pakistan is considered one of the most water stressed nations in the world.
