Concerns the ayoreo people who live around the border of bolivia and peru, slash-and- burn foragers, nomadic foragers, seasonally. Man goes to live with his wife"s family, similar to hopi actually in that sense, with women playing an active role in courtship those principally concerned doing the organizing not elders. Ayoreo women fairly commonly commit infanticide for their first children which are products outside of marriage, before settling down and having a number of children which they raise. Also looks at kung san women for a parallel. Looking cross-culturally in order to see if infanticide is similarly motivated parent psychology wise, studying a variety of ethnographies and using the specific instances of infanticide as the data. All of these categories can have multiple variations within them of what is important depending on the culture. Female selective infanticide was one of the more common ones, usually in relation to whether it was a good time and infant"s quality (trivers-willard)
