Ayoreo women fairly commonly commit infanticide for their first children which are products outside of marriage, before settling down and having a number of children which they raise. Looking cross-culturally in order to see if infanticide is similarly motivated parent psychology wise, studying a variety of ethnographies and using the specific instances of infanticide as the data. All of these categories can have multiple variations within them of what is important depending on the culture. Female selective infanticide was one of the more common ones, usually in relation to whether it was a good time and infant"s quality (trivers-willard)
