Secretions of stomach contractile smooth muscle: parietal cells ~ line walls of gastric glands; secrete acid and intrinsic factor. Gastric motility: receptive relaxation ~ mediated by parasympathetic nerves innervating stomach"s enteric nerve plexuses, basic electrical rhythm ~ smooth muscle cells undergoing spontaneous depolarization repolarization cycles; conducted through gap junctions, enterogastric reflex ~ Iron: ferritin ~ protein iron complex that functions as intracellular iron store. Anatomy: cecum ~ first portion of large intestine.
