Accurately assesses the present situation, establishes clear goals, identifies + and consequences of decision alternatives, has accurate information, draws reasonable conclusions from info, encourages participation by many people. Improperly analyzes the present situation, does not est. clear group goals, fails to identify enough + and consequences, works from too little info, fails to think critically, allows participation from few people. A problem that attempts to overcome or manage an obstacle in order to reach a goal. Obstacles that keep a group from achieving its goal. Lack of structure, cultural sensitivity, planning, resources, wrong people present, time pressure, poor communication, unsupportive social climate, problem-solving skill. Descriptive approach: helps people understand how a group solves a problem.
