Chapter 1: biology has unifying themes, evolution accounts for the unity and diversity. of life, scientists make observations, and form/test hypotheses, science benefits from cooperation and diversity. Consists of all living things in a particular area (ex: mountain, reef) Along with all of the nonliving components of an environment that life interacts with. The array of organisms/populations inhabiting a particular ecosystem (ex: plants, animals, fungi etc. ) each of these forms of life belong to a species. Species a group whose members can only reproduce with different members of the group. Consists of all the individuals of a species living within a specified area. A body part that is made up of multiple tissues and has specific functions in the body. A group of cells that work together performing a specialized function. Some organism"s are single-celled (single cell performs all of the functions of life) while others are multi-cellular (feature a division of labor with specialized cells)
