Document Summary

Create and capture a presentation of you explaining the basics of transport across the cell membrane. Passive versus active transport and also facilitated transport versus simple diffusion. Provide a real life example of coupled (2o active transport) not included in your textbook - be sure to cite your source appropriately. Also, explain where the energy is coming from to power coupled transport. Explain the concept of charge across the membrane, membrane depolarization and generation of an action potential. Slide 2: passive transport is the movement of molecules across a membrane that does not require energy. Passive transport depends on how permeable the membrane is. If it is very permeable then it will require no energy for the molecules to cross the membrane and it being considered passive transport. There are 3 main kinds of passive transport: diffusion, osmosis and facilitated diffusion.
