This is our ability to select information that supports our beliefs. There is also selective retention, this is our ability to remember information that supports our beliefs. The process of organizing in perception is the ability to understand what is happening around you. Things are organized based off of figure, ground, and grouping. Figure is what is in front of you, and ground is what is in the background. Grouping is a way of organizing in how close together events occur and how similar the events are. Interpreting in the process of perception is putting meaning to an event. While interpreting we might have to use closure by drawing conclusions from the information that is given.
