Document Summary
Must be categorized, defined, and interpreted on your own. Begins with preliminary scanning of responses for a general theme or outline. Typically does not ask how or why people act the way they do. Attempt to find information that may be undiscovered or seldom researched. Insights are gained through observation and interviews. Qualitative research reports must be looked at with a critical eye. There are computer softwares that may be useful in interpreting. It"s not about amount of respondents but about how in depth answers are. A narrative account that describes the study and its results, theoretical insights as well as practical applications. Main points should be clearly supported with evidence. The researcher and participants should have similar conclusions. Too much description without categorizing or conclusions. Providing theories and conclusions that are not supported by the evidence. Determine and explain how respondents were selected and in what settings they were interviewed. And which were improvised during the interview.
