Asexual: having no sexual attraction to others. Sex is not like hunger - it is not an actual need. Hunger is to eating as desire to pass on genes is to sex. Testosterone: the most important of male sex hormones. Both males and females have them, but additional in men stimulates growth male sex organs during fetal development and throughout puberty. Sexual arousal can be both the cause or consequence of rising testosterone levels. Estrogens: sex hormones, such as estradiol, secreted in greater amounts by females than men and contributes to female characteristics.
