Choledocholithiasis -> stones in the common bile duct. Acute cholecystitis is the inflammation of the gallbladder. Calculous cholecystitis: a gallbladder stone obstructs bile outflow. Acalculous cholecystitis: inflammation occuring in the absence of gallstones, usually after major surgery, severe trauma, or burns. Repeated episodes of cystic duct obstruction result in chronic inflammation.
