It is a required course for marketing majors with the prerequisites of mkt 3411 (consumer analysis and behavior) and isds. The primary emphasis of this course is to develop an understanding of the techniques used by market researchers as they satisfy marketing managers" information needs and problems. The course orientation is largely survey research; although, qualitative methods such as focus groups, and secondary information such as syndicated data sources are covered as well. By experiencing this course, students will acquire the "nuts and bolts" skills necessary to plan and implement a marketing survey. A major part of the course is the execution of a simulated team marketing survey project. In addition, students will perform a pilot qualitative research study.
