Document Summary

A totalitarian dictatorship regime, according to friedrich & brzezinski, is a governmental power that is autocratically ruled. The sole leader of the people and the ruling party has the last word in all aspects of life. The head of the regime, or autokrator, is a ruler that is only accountable to himself. The regime itself is an innovation or sui generis meaning that it is a ruling party that is unique or of its own kind . Over time the totalitarian state was molded by political situations in which anticonstitutionalist and antidemocratic movements came to the forefront. In the same way that the regime was molded, the regime itself goes to great lengths to remold human beings under its control in the image of its ideology. The ideology of the regime is its driving force and can be seen in the citizen"s thoughts, attitudes as well as all activities of their daily lives.
