Emotions and motivation always go together and cannot be separated. Best moment: best moment can motive you to behave in a certain way or vice versa. Goal directed behavior is a major part of our life. When you set a goal and accomplish it, you have positive emotions. When you don"t accomplish a goal, you have negative emotions. Your positive and negative emotions are very powerful and can motivate you. Aron ralston- hiking, bolder fell and trapped arm. Gave into that he was going to die. He sacrificed his own hard because of his motivation. Instincts- an unlearned behavior that is passed down from generation to generation. Drive induction theory- a human wants balance or (homeostasis) (ex: drink sea water when without water). When you are unbalanced, you are driven to return back to it. Optimum arousal: if our bodies are perfectly in balance, we are still going to have goal- directed behavior from stuff that arouses and stimulates us.
