Document Summary

Jesus and his disciples were not christians, they were palestinian jews who studied judaism. After the temple was destroyed, rabbis focused on jewish law from the torah. The temple was rebuilt and that period was called second-temple judaism. The understanding that there is only one god is called shema or monotheism. The torah consists of the first five books of the bible. Hebrew as instructions or teachings but to law in greek. The writings make up the third section which consist of anything that did not fit in the first two sections. Septuangint is the greek translation for the jews. Jesus made a covenant by delivering the israelites from slavery and made them his people. The covenant were commandments on how to treat others. One of the commandments says not to work on. Sundays which is the sabbath (day of rest). Pseudepigrapha is a falsely written attribute to the bible written by famous people that don"t really count.
