In the beginning of the semester, dr. church gave the class an assignment to ask ourselves a question and then answer that question, to see the outcome of our learning experience in his class. For example, the frontal cortex, which is responsible for making rational decisions isn"t completely developed until the age 25. Another example is that parents are not perfect. They could have been abusing the child with physical assault or sexual abuse that led the child to murder the parent. Even for small criminal charges, depending on how young the child is, they can"t mentally make rational decisions. i can now expand on this question after taking sw 3007 juvenile. I do believe that this is a tough question to be answered. The united states has laws and circumstances that come into play that vary from state to state, proving this isn"t a question with one answer.
