Government employees expanded during world war ii and the great society in 1960. Expansion of govt. employees stems from state and local levels. Government employment in comparison to other industrialized nations falls in the middle and 5th from bottom of spending. Is a school district though they have decreased in past sixty years. 2 of every 5 american govts. are special districts for water, sewers etc. these have rapidly increased in past sixty years.
