We use many different strategies: passive. Reduced uncertainty= liking the person: not always true. We want the benefits to outweigh the costs. Comparison level: your relationship versus what you expect. Comparison level of alternatives: you relationship versus other options. Good relationships= partners have equal ratio of positives and negatives/ gives and takes. Breadth: how great are the variety of topics. Depth: know core level of topics not just surface.
