Maturity and the importance you place on your job are reflected in the way you dress & behave at work. Impressions are often made in the first few seconds of an introduction (majority of impressions are made through appearance) Appearance is a frame that highlights physical features, attitude, knowledge, & potential. Doesn"t have to conflict with current fashion trends, just know what is acceptable. Rule of thumb is to dress one position higher. Dress code: policy that addresses issues such as required attire, uniforms, hairstyle, undergarments, jewelry, & shoes vary by company. Casual workdays: days when companies relax their dress code. Do not wear something tattered, stained, or torn (even if this is fashionable) Avoid shirts with graphics or sayings that could be offensive. Do not display anything that will bring about unwanted attention.
