Analogical Transfer:
how this transfer of knowledge occurs
Includes the target problem and the source problem, which is the

that illustrated the way of solving the target
o Radiation Problem:
has been widely used in research of analogical problem solving
Poses the problem of a tumor that must be removed and it will remove
the tumor but could also kill healthy skin as well
asks the question what type of procedure might be used to
destroy the tumor and at the same time avoid destroying the
healthy tissue?
Solution bombard the tumor with a number of low-intensity rays from
different directions, which will destroy the tumor without damaging the
tissue the rays are passing through
