THEO 20205 Chapter Notes - Chapter ALL: Beatification
Document Summary
Humans, in general, can be a very judgmental species. We like to judge each other on our appearance, hair, clothes, political affiliations, religious beliefs, jobs: the list goes on and on. This judgment is not necessarily malicious; in some ways, it is second nature. We even like to judge each other on our sins and gossip about the misdoings of others. There is not a single person on the face of the earth who has not sinned and, therefore, not a single person who can enter into heaven because of their own good acts and holiness. We have all sinned, so we are all flawed, but god"s love and mercy save us and allow us to enter into. Balthasar argues that we must hope for the salvation of all human beings because we are just a flawed as our brothers and sisters.
