Document Summary
Root folder: top-level folder; contains all of the other files & folders of a website. Each section of a site is placed in a separate folder to organize folders. Relationships b/w files & folders is described using the same terms as a family tree. Web servers return the index. html file if no file name is specified. Url(uniform resource locator): made up of the domain name followed by the path to that page/image. Relative urls: used when linking to pages w/in your own website. Shorthand way of telling the browser where to find your files. Html code is made up of elements that line inside angled brackets. Closing tag (has an extra forward slash) Each element tells the browser something about the info that sits b/w its opening. Anything b/w body tags should be shown in main browser window. Attributes: provide additional info about contents of an element.
