Descriptive statistics is a technique where data is displayed and summarized. In research, usually there would be one or two statistical relationship between the variables. There are also common techniques to describe single variables. Distribution is where the scores are put across the levels of variable. For example, a distribution from a sample of 100 college students; it can be distributed into 44 males and 56 female for the scores. A frequency table is a distribution of variables. An example would be in a rosenberg scale has scores for self- esteem that range from 15 to 24. The frequency would be the amount of time the variable shows up. In a frequency table, the levels listed would go in the first column from the highest to the lowest on the bottom for the datas. Frequency tables could also be used for categorical variables; would be the levels.
