Social psychology- the scientific study of how individuals think, feel, and behave in a. Social psychologists get their information through science which makes it different from other branches of psychology. A scientific study of someone having control over the shock machine and another person attached to it and the experimenter telling the person in charge of the shock machine to increase voltage and shock the person (milgram"s) Psychologists thought that less than 1% would shock a person to the point that they would die, but it was actually 66% that would go that far. To find this info, psychologists needed to create an experiment. Take an observation and form it into a question then come up with a hypothesis, prediction, experiment, results. Social psych concerns a diverse set of topics but differs from other social sciences bc social psych focuses on the individual. Social psych places an emphasis on social nature and individuals.
