Document Summary

A modern global governance system: to design a new framework of global governance. Global economies, or universal structures, in search of a just world order can not provide justice for all nations or all people. Global organizations need to set standards, track "financial goods" and. Paradoxically, these global institutions are declining, even as global interdependence is increasing. Every global organization urgently needs both reform and reinforcement: take for example the bretton woods structures, what should worry us today is not their apparent ignorance but their growing irrelevance. They are not institutions of global governance any more. They are also institutions for directing economic policy in the developing world. Rather we need to create alliances for reform within those organizations and with their governance. As distances decrease and we become a global community, we are likely to undergo an evolution on a global level similar to the evolution that we have already observed at national level over the last century.
