Thus, reimarus rejected all miracles and revelation, and accentuated the seemly numerous contradictions found within scripture: strauss: equally denied the possibility of supernatural events surrounding the life of jesus. Gospels were so overlaid with myths and supernatural occurrences, which modern educated people could no longer believe, that the historical jesus was impossible to discover.
