Many studies: learning, perception, hunger, child development, etc. Late 1800 psychology apply scientific methods to certain questions of philosophy of mind: 1. free will verse determinism 2. Free will verse determinism: determinism: the idea that everything that happens has a cause or determinant that someone could observe or measure, free will: the belief that behavior is caused by a person"s independence decisions. The mind-brain problem: mind-brain problem: the philosophical question of how experience relates to the brain, dualism- holds that the mind of separate from the brain but somehow controls that brain and therefore the rest of the body. However, contradicts the law of conservation of matter and energy. The only way to influence any matter or energy is to act on it with other matter or energy.
