Can condense several two-group experiments into one. Independent samples random assignment; differences between groups: measures differences within groups, matched sets, measure particip on some var then create sets who"re same on measured var matching variable, repeated measures. Particip take part in all treatment condit: natural sets. Families w/ 3+ hildren, littermates: usually involve bio relationships. Basically same except multiple group has at least one more level of iv. Matched sets difficulty of finding 3+ participants to match on ev. Natural sets difficult to find many individauls that are related. Repeated measures requires more time because measuring each participant at least. Independent group need large number of participants for random asssignment. Dealing w/ measured ivs ex post facto research. One-way anova - for one iv that has 3 + levels.
