Qualitative research - research conducted in natural setting that seeks to understand complex human behavior by developing complete narrative description of behavior. Use views of informants in society as basis for report " develop hypothesis as they research. Confirmability - extent to which qualitative research report is accurate, unbiased and can be confirmed. Dependability - extent to which researcher believes that same results would be produced if replicated. Credibility - accuracy of identification and description of subject of study. Ethnographic inquiry - rgoal is to learn about culture: participant obsercation - researcher becomes part of group. Focus groups - 7-10 participants w/ shared experiences to discuss topic of common interest. Case studies - intensive obs of single participant over extended time.
